ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – After several players left Sunday’s game at New England with injuries, Interim Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio had some positive updates Monday morning.
"We got some decent injury news back today that a couple of the injuries that we were concerned about are not going to be significant," he said.
Del Rio categorized running back
Rodgers-Cromartie injured his shoulder on the final play of the first half and was originally probable to return before he was later downgraded to out.
Moreno’s injury, which Del Rio said was a “bruised ankle,” occurred late in overtime after he’d set career highs with 37 attempts for 224 yards on the day.
“I would say there’s a good chance by the end of the week you’ll see him on the practice field,” Del Rio said of Moreno.
Del Rio also provided optimistic updates on a pair of Broncos that were listed as questionable for the Week 12 game at New England, but did not suit up – cornerback
“He was close last week,” Del Rio said of Bailey. “I believe we will get Champ back, which will be great.”
“I would anticipate we will get Julius back,” Del Rio added. “Those guys (Bailey and Thomas) were both questionable last week. At the end of the day, we felt it was in their best interest and our best interest that we wait one more week with both of them so they had to miss yesterday but they should be full-go this week.”
The only player that Del Rio said the team was still waiting for the medical tests on was defensive tackle
“So we’ll wait to hear about his hip," Del Rio said. "He is a little sore but we’ll learn more when we get the test results back.”
