Broncos Continue to Add Through Free Agency

Posted Aug 1, 2011

On Monday, the club signed tight end Dante Rosario and re-signed defensive tackle Marcus Thomas, who was an unrestricted free agent.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The Broncos continued adding to the roster through free agency Monday, signing tight end Dante Rosario and re-signing defensive tackle Marcus Thomas.

To make room for the moves, the club waived wide receiver Marshall Williams.

Rosario, a fifth-round draft pick of Head Coach John Fox in Carolina, has 82 catches for 894 yards and five touchdowns in his career. He joins a tight end stable that features two 2011 NFL Draft selections -- Virgil Green and Julius Thomas -- and two three-year veterans -- Richard Quinn and Dan Gronkowski.

Thomas has spent all four of his professional seasons in Denver, accumulating 103 tackles, three passes defensed, two interceptions, one forced fumble and a sack.

Both players were on the field Monday morning watching their teammates practice. They can begin to participate on Thursday -- the start of the league year.
