Broncos Add Linebacker to Active Roster

Posted Sep 1, 2013

The Broncos were assigned second-year linebacker Adrian Robinson off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- On Sunday, the Broncos announced that running back Jacob Hester had been released.

Shortly thereafter, the corresponding roster move was announced. The club was assigned second-year linebacker Adrian Robinson off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles.

Robinson spent the 2012 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he played in 12 games on special teams.

He was acquired by the Eagles in a trade with the Steelers on Aug. 23 in exchange for running back Felix Jones. He made one tackle with the Eagles in the preseason after notching four and a fumble recovery with the Steelers.

Robinson spent his college career at Temple, where he was among the top defensive players in the Mid-American Conference. He played in every game of his collegiate career, starting 38 games, including 32 consecutive. He was a first-team All-MAC player and a team captain in his senior season, which saw him named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List, an award honoring the nation's most outstanding defensive player.

The active roster now stands at a full 53 players, and the club has added seven of a possible eight players to its practice squad.
