Barrow Latest 2014 Draft Pick to Sign

Posted Jun 3, 2014

Linebacker Lamin Barrow, selected in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft, signed with the Broncos on Tuesday.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- A day after signing three 2014 NFL Draft picks, the Broncos' front office got back to work.

Fifth-round linebacker Lamin Barrow officially signed his rookie contract on Tuesday.

Barrow earned second-team All-SEC honors from the Associated Press and coaches after his senior season, when he led LSU in tackles.

In his collegiate career, the 6-foot-1, 237-pounder played in 51 games with 28 starts. He finished with 230 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks, adding seven pass breakups, seven quarterback hurries and four fumble recoveries.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, Barrow said he brings "physicality, tougness and speed" to the next level, which are traits teams recognized during interviews.

"I think his football character, what he brings to the table and his mindset," Head Coach John Fox said during the draft. "We look at guys that made captains and what they’ve brought to a big-time program even in college, and been in big spots, been in big games. Of course, he’s a very explosive guy that can play all three downs as a linebacker early in his career."

Barrow's signing leaves first-round pick Bradley Roby and third-round pick Michael Schofield as the Broncos' only unsigned 2014 draft picks.
