Bailey, Dreessen in Full Pads

Posted Sep 19, 2013

Champ Bailey and Joel Dreessen, who have yet to participate in a regular-season practice, were in full pads at the start of Thursday's session.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- A day after Ryan Clady was placed on injured reserve, the Broncos got some good news on the injury front.

Cornerback Champ Bailey and tight end Joel Dreessen, both of whom have been listed as "out" for both of the team's first two games, were at practice Thursday in full pads.

Last week, Head Coach John Fox said Bailey was "making great progress."

"He's being watched over by our medical staff and he's getting closer," Fox said last Friday.

Bailey suffered a foot injury in the Broncos' second preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks and has not participated in any practices in the regular season.

Dreessen underwent a knee scope in early August during training camp, which opened the door for tight end Julius Thomas to receive more repetitions. He hasn't participated in any regular-season practices, either.

As for the players' official participation in Thursday's practice, that is yet to be determined. Fox will release the full injury report at the conclusion of the session.
