ENGLEWOOD, Colo. The Denver Broncos on Friday signed cornerback SydQuan Thompson, whom they selected in the seventh round (225th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft from the University of California. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Thompson (5-foot-9, 187 pounds) earned first-team All-Pacific-10 Conference honors during each of his final two years at California, where he set a school record by starting all 52 possible games during his four-year career.
He also set the school mark with 36 passes broken up in addition to posting seven interceptions (204 yds.), 257 tackles (166 solo) and 20 tackles for a loss (65 yds.) for the Golden Bears.
A three-time all-state selection at Grant High School in Sacramento, Calif., Thompson was born on Feb. 7, 1987.
