2014 Opponents Finalized

Posted Dec 26, 2013

Now that all the division-winners in the AFC have been determined, the Broncos' 2014 opponents have been finalized.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- This weekend, the Broncos can clinch the No. 1 seed in the AFC with a win against the Oakland Raiders or a New England loss to the Buffalo Bills.

The team's focus is squarely on Week 17 and the playoffs that will follow -- Denver has already locked up the AFC West and a first-round bye in the postseason.

“I think one thing this team has done a good job of all year is just focusing on the opponent and the task at hand," quarterback Peyton Manning said Wednesday. "I think that has served us well — that philosophy."

But with all of the division-winners in the AFC sewn up, it's never too early to look ahead to next season's schedule, which is now finalized.

We knew the Broncos would face the entire AFC East and NFC West next season, along with one team each from the AFC South and AFC North. Exactly which teams those would be depended on where the Broncos finished in the AFC West.

Since the Indianapolis Colts and the Cincinnati Bengals have secured first place in those divisions, respectively, and the Broncos are AFC West champs for the third consecutive season, those two teams are locked into next year's slate.

At Sports Authority Field at Mile High next season, the Broncos will host the Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers and Indianapolis Colts.

The Broncos will head on the road in 2014 to face the Chiefs, Raiders, Chargers, New England Patriots, New York Jets, St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks and Cincinnati Bengals.
