In Week 10 of the 2012 season, the Broncos travel to Carolina to play the Panthers.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Over the next week, DenverBroncos.com will continue to preview the team's 2012 schedule, including a look at the last time the teams faced off, what to watch for this season and more.

THE LAST TIME: In Week 15 of the 2008 season, Denver struggled throughout a 30-10 loss to the Panthers. The game was tied at 10 after the first quarter, but Carolina led 27-10 early in the third quarter after a 56-yard touchdown run by DeAngelo Williams.

The Morning After: Week 15 | Carolina Blues | A Bittersweet Pair

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: Coaches return to Charlotte
Broncos Head Coach John Fox and a number of his assistants coached together in Carolina, where Fox led the Panthers to three playoff appearances in nine seasons as Carolina's head coach. Many of Carolina's top players were drafted by Fox's staff, including starting offensive linemen Jordan Gross and Ryan Kalil, running backs DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart and wide receiver Steve Smith.

KEY MATCHUP: Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey vs. Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith
Bailey is one of the few corners in the league capable of shutting down Smith in one-on-one coverage. Bailey, an 11-time Pro Bowler, has been in the league since he was drafted 7th overall by the Washington Redskins in 1999. The battle between Bailey and Smith, who has made five Pro Bowl appearances over the course of his 11 seasons in the league, will headline a game featuring interesting matchups all over the field.

GAME NOTES: This game will mark just the fourth regular-season matchup all-time between Denver and Carolina... The Broncos own a 2-1 all-time series advantage, winning in 1997 and 2004 before falling in 2008... The Week 10 trip to Charlotte will be the Broncos second consecutive trip to the Eastern time zone, as it follows a Week 9 road matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals... The Carolina game will be Denver's second NFC South contest in three weeks (Denver hosts New Orleans in Week 8).
