Broncos License Plates
Show Your Broncos Pride on Your Car!

Broncos fans are able to show their Broncos pride and support of Denver Broncos Charities with Denver Broncos license plates. The Denver Broncos would like to thank the over 10,000 applicants who have donated more than $300,000 to the Denver Broncos Charities.

All Colorado residents who make a $30 minimum donation to Denver Broncos Charities will be eligible to purchase Denver Broncos license plates. Denver Broncos Charities will issue a certificate of approval confirming the donation has been received. In order to receive the Broncos' group special license plate, an individual must present to their County Motor Vehicle Office the certificate issued by the Denver Broncos Organization proving donation was paid. Your County Clerk will at that time assess a one-time $50.00 fee for the Highway Users Tax Fund and Licensing Services Cash Fund and any normal taxes and fees usually assessed with the registration and plating of your vehicle.

Denver Broncos license plates are currently available at your County Motor Vehicle office. Please contact your County Motor Vehicle office for availability. Donations generated by the Denver Broncos license plate program will be used to support Denver Broncos Charities.

All Broncos License Plates proceeds ($30 donation per plate) go to Broncos Charities' programs to improve the lives of Coloradans through youth, health, hunger and homeless relief initiatives.

Q: If I bring my donation to the stadium in person, can I get my certificate the same day?
A: No, please allow up to 2-4 weeks for processing your application and donation. Your Certificate of Approval will be sent to the same address that your vehicle is registered to.

Q: What will the Denver Broncos license plate cost me?
A: Year 1 Costs = $80 plus vehicle registration fees and taxes

  • $30 donation to Denver Broncos Charities
  • $50 fee to Highway Users Tax Fund and Licensing Services Cash Fund (payable to DMV at the time of registration)
  • Vehicle registration taxes & fees

Year 2 and Beyond Costs = Normal vehicle registration taxes and fees

Q: Why can't the Broncos logo appear on a personalized plate?
A: Unfortunately, this is not a decision made by the Denver Broncos. Per Colorado State Law, logos can not appear on personalized plates.

Q: Are applications and donations being accepted now?
A: Yes, please feel free to summit your application along with your donation at anytime. Please allow 2-4 weeks for processing your application and donation. Your Certificate of Approval will be mailed via U.S. Postal Service.

Q: Is there an application deadline?
A: No, there is no application deadline. You may submit your application and donation at anytime. Please allow 2-4 weeks for processing your application and donation.

Q: Can I submit my application and donation online?
A: Yes.  Starting in 2011, you can click here to pay online with a credit card.  If you want to donate more than the $30 minimum donation, you will still need to fill out the PDF above and send a check or money order.

Q: I live out of state; can I still get a Denver Broncos license plate?
A: No, unfortunately Denver Broncos license plates are only available to Colorado residents. The Department of Motor Vehicles can not issue a license plate to an out of state vehicle.

Q: I have a license plate collection, can I get a sample Denver Broncos license plate to add to my collection?
A: No, unfortunately the Department of Motor Vehicles can not issue vanity or sample plates to be put on display.

Q: Can I get a Denver Broncos license plate for my motorcycle?
A: Yes, Denver Broncos license plates will be available for motorcycles. The same application process and fees apply.

Q: Can I take my application and donation to the DMV?

Q: Can I get the Denver Broncos license plates if I don't have a Certificate of Approval?
A: No, the DMV will not issue the Denver Broncos license plates to anyone who does not have a Certificate of Approval issued by Denver Broncos Charities.

Q: My current vehicle registration expires in a week, what can I do?
A: Go ahead and renew your current license plates. Once you receive your certificate of approval you can take it to the DMV and transfer your registration to the Broncos plates. Please contact you County Motor Vehicle Office for details and information on fees.

Q: My current vehicle registration doesn't expire until next year, do I have to wait until then to get my Denver Broncos license plates?
A: No, you can take you certificate of approval to your Colorado County Motor Vehicle office anytime. The DMV will issue a credit for any unused months left on your registration. Ex: If your vehicle registration expires in June but you renew in January, you will receive six (6) months credit for the months that were unused. However, you are welcome to wait until your current registration is expired before you switch over to the Denver Broncos license plates.

Q: Does making the donation to Denver Broncos Charities guarantee that I will get Denver Broncos license plates?
A: There are a limited number of Denver Broncos license plates available at each Colorado County Motor Vehicle office. If County Motor Vehicle office runs out of Denver Broncos license plates before you go to get yours, you may have to wait just a couple months for their supply to be replenished.

Q: I have the regular standard issue green Colorado plates, can I keep the same number?
A: No, the Denver Broncos standard issue plates will have to be a different license plate number.

Q: Can I transfer my personalized plates to the Broncos Plates?
A: Yes, personalized plates are transferable. Additional fees may apply, please contact the County Motor Vehicle Office for more information.

Q: What percentage of my donation will go to Denver Broncos Charities?
A: 100% of donations collected will support Denver Broncos Charities.

Q: Is my donation Tax deductible?
A: Yes, your contribution is tax deductible to the extent of the tax law, Denver Broncos Charities will provide a receipt to file with your taxes.

Q: Who receives assistance from Denver Broncos Charities?
A: Broncos Charities implements a yearly grant cycle where grants of at least $50,000 are awarded to programs in the areas of youth, health, hunger and homelessness relief where possible.

Q: Can I get a Denver Broncos license plate for a commercial vehicle?
A: No, per Colorado statute all Group Special, Alumni and Military plates are not allowed on commercial vehicles.

Q: Can I get a Denver Broncos license plate for a registered trailer?
A: No, unfortunately Broncos plates cannot be placed on registered trailers of any kind.

Q: Can I get a Denver Broncos license plate for a motor home?
A: Yes, Broncos license plates are available for motor homes. The same application process and fees apply.
