What is the best thing about being a Broncos Cheerleader?
The best thing about being a Broncos Cheerleader is EVERYTHING! From dancing on the field in front of 70,000 fans, to the numerous charity events we do every year, and of course meeting the die-hard broncos fans out in the community. However probably the most rewarding part of being a DBC is being able to work with our Junior Denver Broncos Cheerleaders. This is my third year as an instructor and I have grown extremely attached to the girls in my junior cheerleading squad. I have watched them grow and develop into excellent dancers/cheerleaders/young ladies. I can’t wait to see what my squad members will achieve in years to come.

What is your most memorable experience?

My most memorable experience this past season was the playoff game against the Ravens. There are so many great memorable experiences that happen every season but this one pops into my mind every time I get asked this question. It was probably the coldest game of all time and the most unexpected roller coaster game for the Broncos in a long time. Dancing on the field in the freezing cold weather I had two back warmers on, two hand warmers in my boots and two warmers in each glove to keep myself going through that game. Even though we didn’t win that day, that game reminds me of how important it is to keep spirits high for the Broncos and not give up on cheering them on, no matter what the elements bring.

How do you spend your time off the field?
Off the field, I am a busy woman. I have a full time job as a product developer for a local skiwear company, which I am extremely grateful for. I look forward to showing up to work every Monday.  When I am not working or fulfilling my duties as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader, I am going out to dinner with friends, going to concerts, going up to the mountains, or of course taking some kind of work out or dance class to stay in shape. I like to stay active as much as possible; I’m definitely not a homebody.

What is your occupation and how does being a Denver Broncos Cheerleader affect your work?
I am a Product Developer for a local skiwear company. I work full time and commute to work and travel for work as well, so I really have to make sure my work and my duties as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader don’t get in the way of each other. In order to keep BOTH jobs from conflicting with each other I have to stay on top of things and schedule things accordingly. Luckily for me the company I work for is also very supportive of me being a DBC so they are very flexible if I ever have a conflict. It’s a lot of work and is stressful at times, but I love my job and being a Denver Broncos Cheerleader. I truly am blessed to have TWO great jobs.

Who do you admire most in the Sports industry?
I say this every year and it will never change. I admire the FANS in the sports industry the most. Sports would not have all the hype, and the competition, and the passion if it were not for the fans. A game would not have the same atmosphere if you didn’t have the roar of a crowd when their favorite team scores, or super fans cheering their team on if they are struggling and keeping spirits high in the stadium. The fans make a sports experience come to life. Not to mention I wouldn’t have the job of being a DBC if I didn’t have any Broncos fans to dance for at games. The sports industry would be nothing without the support of loyal fans. So as a side note to the fans…THANK YOU!!!

What is your favorite book?
My favorite book would have to be The Giver. It is about a young boy, Jonas, who grows up in a utopic society with no war, hatred, judgment, pain, or prejudice. Every on in the community acts the same and has a distinct path laid out for them but Jonas is different. He sees life differently and doesn’t know what path he wants to take his life down. When the kids in the book turn twelve they have to go through a ceremony where they basically decide how they will live the rest of their lives. Jonas gets the honor of being the receiver of memories. In this utopic society someone has to hold on to the memories of war, hatred, and prejudice to keep their society from making mistakes that could damage their society. It’s a great book that shows life can never be perfect and we must make mistakes and then learn from the mistakes of our past to have a fulfilled future and be true human beings.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years I see myself still living in Denver and definitely still dancing. I would love to grow more in my career and hopefully I will still be with the same company I am with now. Life can change drastically, though, in just one year so I try not to think too far in advance. One thing I definitely would love to do if I have the opportunity would be to live in another country. I think you can grow so much with that kind of experience and I really want to try.

What is the best thing about Broncos fans? I mentioned this earlier - I admire the fans in the sports industry the most. Broncos fans are of course the best in the NFL. I love going on Broncos Caravans and meeting the fans outside of Denver, and then seeing them again tailgating at every game after a two hour drive from outside the city limits of Denver. Not to mention Broncos fans are also extremely involved; with broncos either in the community or on the web with social media or blogs they are writing on the Mile High Report. The passion and dedication Broncos fans bring to Mile High is what makes them the best. I cherish the memories I make meeting Broncos Super Fans.

What do you do in your spare time to relax?
There are four things I do in order to relax, or de-stress from my life’s obligations. Number one is getting massages, number two is retail therapy (shopping, after all I do work in the apparel industry), number three working out, and last but not least SLEEPING IN.

What is your best advice to kids?
My best advice to kids is to never say “I can’t.” Kids have all the potential in the world, all they have to say is “I CAN, and I WILL” If they can work hard enough by practicing and working towards a goal they want, they will eventually someday accomplish their goals. Once they start telling themselves they can’t that’s when they don’t reach their goals. I truly believe that simply staying positive and saying, “I can and I will” is the best motivation for kids.

What is the best gift you ever received?
The best gift I ever received was a Claddagh ring from my oldest sister. The Claddagh is an Irish wedding ring and my ring is platinum silver with an opal stone heart. Being that I come from a very Irish family, the ring means a lot to me. However my mom died when I was very young and Opal was her favorite stone. The ring holds a very special place in my heart and I never take it off. It’s how I keep my mom's memory with me everyday.

What is the one place you would most like to visit?
The one place I would most like to visit is BANGKOK, THAILAND. I went for the first time this summer and fell in love with the city. The people, the culture, the FOOD was the best I have ever tasted, and the fact you can get a two hour massage for $40 makes it the best place on earth. I cannot wait to go back.

Who has been your greatest inspiration?
As cliché as this sounds, my mom is definitely my greatest inspiration. She died when I was only 12 years old and she was a very successful woman who sadly died at a very young age. So whenever I say I want to do something or set a goal for myself I always am reminded of my mom and how her life ended very suddenly, and if I ever want to accomplish a goal in my life I need to work towards it every day with absolutely no regrets or telling myself I should have done something different. You only have one life and you need to make the most of it before it’s too late and your looking back saying what you should have done differently, my motto is to always look forward toward the future at what you can do instead of looking backward at what you should have done.

What is the one thing that you value most in life?
The one thing I value the most in life is my friends and family. They keep me alive and push me to be the best person I can be not only for myself but for them as well. They are there for me at my worst moments and my best moments. Most of all though they accept me for who am I am they are always there to support me when I need them. I don’t know what I would do without my friends and family they truly are my backbone.

What is the toughest part about being a cheerleader?
The toughest part about being a cheerleader is finding a good work life balance. It tough staying on top of your responsibilities and not getting too stressed out. You really need to find a good balance so that you enjoy every moment of being a cheerleader and not miss out on life in general. This is truly one of the best experiences I have ever had but it can be ruined when I get too stressed out, and especially when I don’t have time to see my friends or family. It is extremely important to find a balance between your life as a cheerleader and your life outside of being one too. Once you find that balance life runs much more smoothly.

Who are two people you would like to have dinner with?
Two people I would love to have dinner with are Joan Rivers and Anthony Bourdain. WHY? I want to have dinner with Joan Rivers because I love the fashion industry and to laugh. She has so much life experience in the fashion world and she was a professional comedian. She would make it the most entertaining and fulfilling dinner of a lifetime for me. I would want to have dinner with Anthony Bourdain because I also am addicted to his show No Reservations. I love trying exotic foods and want to have a great dining experience. Anthony Bourdain knows how to wine and dine, I know my dinner would be fantastic and memorable if he was there to order for me.

What are your favorite things to do in Denver?
I love doing everything in Denver. I try to be involved in everything I can. However, I can narrow down a few of my favorite things to do in Denver. I love going to Red Rocks for concerts. It is the best concert venue on the planet. I love going to wash park over the summer time just to hang out with friends. Most of all, I love going to restaurants and out to eat in Denver. We have a ton of great brewery’s and restaurants in Denver its hard not to get enough of what options Denver has to offer.

Favorite sport to participate in?
I participate in every sport I possibly can. I love competition; in fact I have a really hard time losing. I will play anything from corn-hole, ski ball, to volley ball, softball, even swimming, and running. I love being challenged, especially in sports so I will join in on any competition if I am asked to do it.

What are the three words that best describe you?

Three words that descried be are Passionate, Motivated, and Real.

Passionate: I care deeply about my goals, my career, my hobbies, my friends and my family. I put 100% into everything I do because I never want to fail at anything or let anyone down.

Motivated: I will do anything in my power to get what I want. If something goes wrong I always push through it and achieve my goals. Lets put it this way, I have accomplished every goal I have set for myself because I will never let myself say I didn’t try hard enough to get what I want out of my life.

Real: I have the hardest time lying. Even if it is a prank I can’t hold it together. I like to be honest with people and gain their trust. I think the best thing you can ever give to someone in your life is the truth and the real you.

What is your most prized possession?
My most prized possession is my life. I am extremely lucky to have my friends and family, as well a great job, and the ability to dance on my two feet.  As simple as this answer is I think a lot of people can say the same thing. I am very lucky and so humble to wake up to the life I have everyday. I wouldn’t change a thing.

What is your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment is taking my education and experience with dance to the next level. I have danced since I was five years old and have continued my passion up to this day by dancing for the Broncos as a Cheerleader. It’s so surreal being able to live out your passion for such a long time. Not only have I been able to live out my passion in dance but I am living out my passion in my career as well. I went to school for apparel and merchandising and I made a goal to become a product developer after college, which I am now. The fact that I have reached my goals by continuing my passion for dance and putting my college education to work by becoming a product developer is definitely my greatest accomplishment. I couldn’t ask for more.
