What would fans be surprised to know about you?
I lived and traveled around the world for an entire year last year. I was given an amazing opportunity to live in the Czech Republic and Greece, but I of course took advantage of the traveling aspect as well. I lived in a remote and incredibly charming town called Jindrichuv Hradec in the Czech Republic and also lived in a busier, more lively town called Trikala in Greece. During that year, I traveled to Croatia, Malta, Barcelona, Prague, Santorini, Venice, Volos, London and Dublin. I am proud to say that I am a professional world traveler!
What has been your favorite Broncos moment?
This is an easy one. Definitely, the AFC Championship game against the Patriots in 2014. The energy and excitement in the stadium from the team and the fans was something I will never forget. We were going to the Super Bowl! Representing the Broncos in New Jersey for the biggest game of the year (and our dance career) is definitely the best news I have ever received. With confetti covering the field and high-fives all around, this was truly an unforgettable moment in my life.
What is your favorite part of being a Denver Broncos Cheerleader veteran?
Being able to have so many experiences and memories in only 4 short years! We are honored to work with others through charities, appearances and other events around the Denver area and sometimes, around the world. I am so fortunate to have met so many people through these events who have only enhanced my life. I have also been a Junior Denver Broncos Cheerleader instructor for 4 years and I love the fact that I can teach these young girls valuable life lessons while improving their confidence and dance skills. Furthermore, being given the opportunity to dance at the Super Bowl in 2014 was an incredible experience that I can cherish for my entire life as well. I could go on and on with this list!
Any hidden talents or tricks you can do?
I have been a gymnast since the age of 3 and can do back handsprings until I am blue in the face. I love the sport!
Favorite current or all-time dance song
Anything Calvin Harris or Medina. It’s constantly playing on my Pandora radio
When did you first start dancing / cheerleading?
I started clogging in the second grade and this was when I first fell in love with dancing. I clogged for about 5 years and then slowly moved into cheerleading in high school. I became a varsity cheerleader as a freshman and then decided to try out for the poms team the year after. Poms is what really set me up for my professional dance career in the future.
Eat Pray Love
Favorite TV Shows
Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Modern Family, The Bachelor/Bachelorette
Favorite time of year
Fall. I’m a November baby and Halloween is my favorite holiday (I have a huge sweet tooth also)
Traveling- one of my traveling goals for the year is to visit Bali and Thailand. One day, I would like to live in either of these places for a few months at least. Outdoor activities- Colorado is too beautiful not to experience it’s landscapes and scenery. I love hiking, camping, swimming, skiing, and golfing. Work outs- I take my health and fitness very seriously and always want to feel my very best in a healthy aspect. This also includes eating healthy!
Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer (unknown)
Song for the first dance ever learned was?
Together Again by Janet Jackson. Take me back to the 90’s!
Favorite style of dance
Pom and Jazz
All-time favorite dance routine you've done?
Dancing with Vanilla Ice as an NBA dancer for the Denver Nuggets. We performed a halftime routine and used all popular 1990’s dance moves for the entire performance to “Ice, Ice Baby.” Talk about hilarious and incredible! If you remember moves like the Running Man, Kid N’ Play Kick Step and the Troop, you are going places!
Favorite meal or restaurant
Anything Mexican food. Blue Bonnett is anything but ordinary.
Favorite junk food
To have to pick only one favorite would be cruel, so I have to go with two- Donuts and Swedish Fish. Both have very special places in my heart.
Bad habit I'm trying to break
Drinking too much coffee
What I love most about my fellow DBC's?
Being able to have life-long friendships! I consider these girls family and we are all very supportive on one another. We see each other at least three times per week, so it definitely allows us to spend enough time to catch up on life. We all have the same passion for dance as well so we connect in a similar way with each other. I have danced with a few of these women on previous, professional teams and it is very admirable to see everyone grow as a dancer and to live out their own dance dream.
I'd walk a mile to meet...
Ellen DeGeneres. She is hilarious!
In ten years, I see myself...
Becoming an entrepreneur, having a family of my own and continuing to travel the world.
Past accomplishment I'm really proud of is...
Learning sign language as a young child in order to communicate with my younger brother who has physical and mental disabilities. It is such a gift to be able to communicate with others even if that means you are not doing what is considered normal. I am lucky enough to be able to understand what my brother wants and needs and to also have a unique connection with him.
A Guilty pleasure song I've downloaded
Taylor Swift’s entire 1989 album. My boyfriend is even more guilty than I am...
# of siblings
Two brothers. One older and one younger.
Dream vacation location
Bali, Thailand, New Zealand
If I won the lottery, the most ridiculous thing I would buy is...
A Krispy Kream chain. Free donuts for life!
Three things I always have in my fridge
Blueberries, carrots, hummus
Favorite 80's or 90's song
Wannabe by The Spice Girls. There are too many memories for it not to be a favorite!
Most interesting class You've ever taken?
Rhetoric in Western Thought for my Communications degree at Colorado State University. My professor was the most incredible speaker I have ever heard. I always looked forward going to his classes because he not only taught, but moved all of his students. There was never an empty seat in his lectures.
Best subject in school was...
English and Public Speaking. I absolutely love writing and researching. The thesaurus is one of my best friends. With a degree in Communications and a minor in English, this is what my college career revolved around. I became so used to writing papers everyday that it eventually became a passion of mine.
What is your passion besides dancing?
Event Planning. I am such a planner- it is in my blood! My first career after college was Event Coordinating and I fell in love with this career. I have always loved planning special occasions such as birthday parties, holiday parties, etc. Making people feeling special on special days is incredibly important!
Dogs or Cats?
I am a proud cat Mom. (I also love dogs of course)
Craziest or most memorable Halloween costume
A pinata. My fellow DBC Katie B. and I made our costumes from scratch (and I will admit they were pretty good). It took a lot of hot glue gun burns, but we succeeded! Since I have a gigantic sweet tooth, this costume choice just seemed fitting.
